I have worked in the funeral industry for more than 20 years. I began my career as a Funeral Arranger before progressing to the role of Funeral Director. I then moved into a compliance role with the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), where I worked within and later led the Standards and Quality Inspection Team. This involved supporting funeral businesses to achieve and maintain high professional standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and promoting best practice across the sector. These experiences have provided me with a strong understanding of bereavement services and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of care to families.

The gardens are amazing. How are they maintained?

Our Gardens of Remembrance are something we are incredibly proud of. They are maintained throughout the year by our dedicated grounds team, led by our Head Groundsman and supported by a team of 2. As a multi-skilled team, other members of staff also provide support when needed, helping to ensure the grounds are maintained to the high standard our visitors expect. The work includes mowing, pruning, planting seasonal displays, caring for memorial areas, managing trees and shrubs, and keeping pathways and communal spaces safe and accessible. The weather can make this a particularly challenging task, with periods of glorious sunshine often followed by torrential rain -perfect conditions for weeds to thrive! Our team works incredibly hard to keep the gardens looking their best all year round, creating a peaceful and welcoming environment for families and visitors.
